Why we charge a flat $99

Other "AI appeal" tools route your inputs through OpenAI or Anthropic — meaning every claim detail, diagnosis note, and denial reason you type ends up on a third-party server. AppealWin runs the model locally on a private Mac in our office. During generation, your inputs never reach OpenAI, Anthropic, or any other third-party LLM. That's why we don't need to charge per-token: we're not paying per-token to anyone. Frequently asked

Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. If you're on Pro, open /app/upgrade and click Manage subscription — that opens the Stripe customer portal where you can cancel in two clicks. Billing stops at the end of your current cycle; you keep Pro access through then. Free-tier users have nothing to cancel — there are no recurring charges.
Do you offer refunds?
We don't offer refunds for partial months as a rule. If the generator can't produce a usable letter from a real denial in your first 30 days, email us and we'll refund — that's our money-back guarantee on Pro. The one-time $19 Patient purchase works differently: it isn't a subscription, so there's nothing to prorate, and if a generation attempt fails your purchase stays valid so you can safely retry — we don't make a separate refund promise on it.
Is AppealWin HIPAA-compliant?
We don't currently sign Business Associate Agreements (BAAs). The product is designed so a fully-scrubbed input (using the placeholders we generate) produces an excellent letter — that means you can use AppealWin without ever entering PHI. If you choose to upload an ERA or EOB file instead, that file may contain PHI — uploading is your choice, and you can always complete AppealWin by typing your denial details yourself without ever entering PHI. We'll update this answer when our BAA program is in place.
Will my data train your model?
No. We use a fixed open-source Qwen 2.5 model. Nothing you submit changes its weights, and we don't fine-tune on user inputs.
What about group practices?
We're Pro-only at the seat level today. If you need 5+ seats on a single bill, email us — we'll set you up with a practice plan.
Which insurance payers do you support?
All of them. We have hand-curated knowledge for Aetna, Cigna, Anthem / BCBS, UHC / Optum, Humana, Kaiser, Tricare, Medicare, Medicaid, Horizon BCBSNJ, and Highmark. Other payers fall back to verified federal regulations.
